It is always a challenge to drive traffic to your videos. How do you increase YouTube views, using free strategies? By last count, 1.5 million videos are uploaded to YouTube each and every day. Unless you have a strategic plan, the chance of your productions being seen are slim to none.

1. Keyword Search - Go to the Google keyword search and find phrases that are high in traffic and low in competition. When you first get started, you don't want to compete with the high traffic words. For example, if your video is about "gardening," don't use the keyword "gardening." Rather you might use a phrase like, "gardening tips for beginners." If you find a phrase that is low in competition, but high in the number of searches, you will have a better chance of getting to the first search page. Next, go to YouTube and enter in your keyword phrase. When you do this, YouTube will give you a drop down list of some other popular similar searches. Right down some of these suggestions and see what they look like using the google keyword tool. Find a keyword that fits the criteria with Google, and is also a popular search phrase with YouTube.
2. When you record your video, use your keyword in the first ten seconds. YouTube will use the first part of your video to help determine what the video is all about. Likewise, make sure you go to your YouTube Video Manager Section, under the audio tab and write the text of your keyword in the caption text box.
3. Use your keyword phrase as the name of your video file. Then upload the file to YouTube.

4. Do a search on YouTube, as if you were searching for your own video. Find the most popular videos that appear. Watch the video and leave a comment. In the comment section, post your video. This will help get you additional views from people that are watching other posts (as a heads up, sometimes this process might take some time, as the owners of other videos will need to approve your comment).

5. Make sure your video title has your keyword phrase. Likewise, use your keyword phrase in the description of the video.
6. Tag your video with your keyword. You want to make sure when people search for your keyword... that your video pops up.

7. When you write articles for your blog and/or for the article directories, hyperlink your video to the article. This will give you additional views from the people reading your article, plus it will give you some great backlinks.
8. Distribute your video to all of the social media sites. You can do this manually, or through a paid service. Make sure you name the video with your keyword phrase. Also, you need to hyperlink to YouTube whenever possible. This step will greatly improve your ability to increase YouTube views.
9. Use a paid service to get you started. It is very inexpensive and you can get massive visits to your video. Simply do a search for paid YouTube views, and you will get all kinds of options. This type of promotion may not get you very many business leads, but it will certainly help with your page ranking.
